EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques can help many issues and problems. In fact there seems to be no limit to what EFT can assist with. You might accept that it can help psychological conditions but how can it help physical conditions? Well let me explain further.
Certainly if you consider any physical condition, no matter what it might be, there will always be a psychological element to it. For example take the painful and debilitating ailment known as arthritis. Most people would agree that it is both painful and restrictive.
Now because there is an element of expectancy about this condition, the expectancy being pain, a person will natural tense up because they expect to get a reminder of that pain. In other words they have already created a condition in their body of readiness for pain. If they tense the muscles and tendons of the body through this expectancy of pain then any normal pain or discomfort created by the arthritic condition of joints in the body is likely to seem greater than if the same surrounding muscles and tendons were relaxed.
Where EFT can help is in reducing the expectancy of pain and helping the person to relax psychologically which naturally leads to a physical relaxation too. From this any pain is likely to be more localised and smaller.
However that is just one possible explanation of how EFT might help the condition of arthritis. Many therapists believe that for every physical condition there most often is a psychological cause.
How often have we heard of someone having a psychological shock to their system such as going through a painful divorce, bereavement, loss of a job and or other stressful life event and then later on, maybe 6 months or a year later, they seem to develop a physical illness. This might eczema, tinnitus, IBS ME, FM or many other issues.
An enlightened therapist would view the psychological shock of some upsetting and stressful life event as being the cause of the physical issue. They would then use EFT to work on the psychological cause and in doing so the client would then be dealing with the cause and not the physical symptoms. This in turn may lead to a reduction or even total resolution of the physical symptoms.
EFT seems to be particularly effective because it is so easy to learn. It is also a very brief process and the positive effectives may be noticed almost immediately.
The great news about EFT is that because if its inbuilt flexibility it can be used for virtually any issue or problem.

Therapeutic Baths
(0)
Water has been used as a valuable therapeutic agent since time immemorial. In all major ancient civilizations, bathing was considered an important measure for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease. It was also valued for its remedial properties. The ancient Vedic literature in India contains numerous references to the efficacy of water in the treatment of disease.
In modern times, the therapeutic value of water was popularised by Vincent Priessnitz, Father Sebastian Kneipp, Louis Kuhne and other European water-cure pioneers. They raised water cure to an institutional level and employed it successfully for the treatment of almost every known disease. There are numerous spas and “Bads” in most European countries where therapeutic baths are used as a major healing agent.
Water exerts beneficial effects on the human system. It equalises circulation, boosts muscular tone and aids digestion and nutrition. It also tones up the activity of perspiratory gland and in the process eliminates the damaged cells and toxic matter from the system.
The common water temperature chart is: cold 100C to 180C, neutral 320C to 360C and hot 400C to 450C. Above 450C, water loses its therapeutic value and is destructive.
The main methods of water treatment which can be employed in the healing of various diseases in a do-it-yourself manner are described below.

“The other night I ate at a real family restaurant. Every table had an argument going.”
One of the biggest obstacles to personal and career success is anger. When we fail to control our anger, we suffer several blows:
- Anger impedes our ability to be happy, because anger and happiness are incompatible.
- Anger sends marriages and other family relationships off-course.
- Anger means lost business, because it destroys relationships.
- Anger also means losing business that you could have won in a more gracious mood.
- Anger leads to increased stress (ironic, since stress often increases anger).
- We make mistakes when we are angry, because anger makes it harder to process information.
People are beginning to wake up to the dangers of anger and the need for anger management programs and strategies. Many people find anger easy to control. Yes, they do get angry. Everybody does. But some people find anger easier to manage than others. More people need to develop anger management skills.
For those who have a tough time controlling their anger, an anger management plan might help. Think of this as your emotional control class, and try these self-help anger management tips:
Ask yourself this question: “Will the object of my anger matter ten years from now?” Chances are, you will see things from a calmer perspective.
Ask yourself: “What is the worst consequence of the object of my anger?” If someone cut in front of you at the book store check-out, you will probably find that three minutes is not such a big deal.
Imagine yourself doing the same thing. Come on, admit that you sometimes cut in front of another driver, too … sometimes by accident. Do you get angry at yourself?
Ask yourself this question: “Did that person do this to me on purpose?” In many cases, you will see that they were just careless or in a rush, and really did not mean you any harm.
Try counting to ten before saying anything. This may not address the anger directly, but it can minimize the damage you will do while angry.
Try some “new and improved” variations of counting to ten. For instance, try counting to ten with a deep slow breathe in between each number. Deep breathing — from your diaphragm — helps people relax.
Or try pacing your numbers as you count. The old “one-steamboat-two-steamboat, etc.” trick seems kind of lame to me. Steamboats are not the best devices to reduce your steam. How about “One-chocolate-ice-cream-two-chocolate-ice-cream”, or use something else that you find either pleasant or humorous.
Visualize a relaxing experience. Close your eyes, and travel there in your mind. Make it your stress-free oasis.
One thing I do not recommend is “venting” your anger. Sure, a couple swift blows to your pillow might make you feel better (better, at least, than the same blows to the door!), but research shows that “venting” anger only increases it. In fact, speaking or acting with any emotion simply rehearses, practices and builds that emotion.
If these tips do not help at all and you still feel you cannot manage your anger and the related stress, you may need some professional help, either in the form of a therapist specializing in anger management or a coach with a strong background in psychology.

Alternative medicines are considered to be new age products. Ancient oriental traditional medicine blended with rudiments of the scholastic medicine of our western world seem to have proven it’s own right. Just look how many people are searching for these alternative treatment methods. We’re going to take a look at a few of them here.
Acupuncture
The use of acupuncture dates back more than 2,000 years. This is a traditional medicine used in Japan, China, and other Eastern countries. The use of acupuncture is beneficial in that it stimulates areas of the body that have a direct correlation to internal organs. By placing fine needles into specific points, the body is encouraged to promote natural healing, improve function, and provide an overall boost to your system. When these needles are inserted, they go into Meridians, which are channels, somewhat like streams within the body. Just as there might be a boulder sitting in a stream blocking the flow of water, it can be the same for the channels of blood in your system. Acupuncture helps to remove these obstacles by providing stimulation, thus improving health.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback is a method used to help blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate, brain activity, and other bodily functions. Basically, biofeedback is a painless system that is hooked up to your body and then through electrical signals received from tightening of your muscles, you would be able to receive those signals by a light telling you that you are tightening your muscles. This in turn trains you to be aware of when you are bringing on stress and to help you identify when you need to relax your body. Biofeedback is very successful and can be used for migraine headaches, chronic pain, high blood pressure, epilepsy, and much more, which can occur when you tense up.
Therapeutic Massage
You might be thinking, “what does getting a massage do for my health other than to make me feel good?” Actually, therapeutic massage has many benefits. For example, it can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote good health. When a person gets a therapeutic massage, they are actually getting the benefit of function improvement with circulatory, muscular, skeletal, nervous systems, lymphatic, and can even help the body heal after an illness or injury. Depending on what the specific health issue is, there is a Swedish Massage, which is a more relaxing massage good for headaches, back stress, and muscle cramps, Pressure Point Therapy, helpful for some injuries as well as circulation problems, headache and muscle tension, insomnia, anxiety, and more.
Finally, Sports Massage focuses on muscle groups used for different sports. Licensed masseuse can help with the issues mentioned as well as allergies, arthritis, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, digestive disorders, myofascial pain, limited range of motion, sinusitis, and TMJ. The next time you tell someone you are going to get a massage, you can simply explain that it is for the benefit of your health.

I want to start by defining what anger is. It is important to make it clear that everyone experiences anger. It is an emotion and temporary in nature. Anger involves physiological as well as emotional arousal. Like any emotion, it ranges in intensity. It also ranges in frequency and durance. People express anger in all sorts of ways; many are likely to lead to negative health consequence, lost jobs, damaged relationships, and even possibly legal consequences.
I want to specifically discuss rage, which is an extreme, intense and potentially disabling expression of anger leading to aggressive behavior. Uncontrollable blow ups are common in people who have maladaptive ways of coping with emotions. There are steps you can take to eliminate rage. A rage eliminator strategy involves the following steps.
1. Recognize that rage holds roots in your expectations about how other people “should” behave.
2. This one is tough, but people will at some time “fail” to live up to your expectations.
3. In these moments of disappointment, your feelings are likely to be hurt.
4. Rather than express disappointment or hurt you may “stuff” your feelings down.
5. In this unresolved state you convert disappointment to resentment and ultimately rage by telling yourself things such as “how dare he/she…”
6. If you maintain this unproductive conversation with your self you will likely lead to feelings of self pity.
7. When you feel sorry for your self you may begin to tell yourself that this kind of thing “always” happens. This contributes to a feel of being a “victim”.
8. Feeling like a victim it becomes easier to talk yourself into such things as “I’ll show him/her”. “I’ll let them have it”.
9. Once you have given your permission to “retaliate” is when rageful behavior can occur.
10. In the aftermath you may feel guilty about your rageful display. This can lead to a mixture of feeling crummy about yourself and continuing to feel resentful toward the other person for “doing it to me”.
If you are a rager, your cycle may be slightly different. However, you can learn the specifics of your cycle. It is hard work, but the long term pay off is worth it. You can learn to alter your expectations of other people and learn to express yourself more effectively when you are feeling hurt or disappointed.
Here are some quick rage busting ideas:
1. Write down some of your past rageful displays. You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge. With each incident include initially a three column technique. First is the situation. Second is what you were saying to yourself about this situation. Third is your resulting emotion and behavior.
2. Next think about each incident and connect with the “subtler” emotions you felt at the time, such as hurt or disappointment.
3. Then write down how these feelings relate to your expectations for others. Related to this, include some of the “worst fears” you have about relationships. Do you fear humiliation? Do you fear the person will leave you? Do you think people will think poorly about you? Rejection? Imperfection?
4. Identify the likelihood of your worst fears. Also identify what that would mean if the worst fear actually happened. You will likely conclude that it would be undesirable, but not the terrible life ending, devastating thing you had imaged.
5. Identify things you could say to yourself to to keep from converting feelings of hurt to feeling of rage.
6. Practice in your mind past incidents where you blew up. However, this time bring yourself to the point before you blew up and use self talk strategies to work this situation through more effectively. Mental rehearsal is a power strategy. It is used by top athletes to rehearse successful performances. It is can also be used as a way of “retraining” yourself to think, feel and behave in different ways. Practice this strategy frequently.
7. Write a list of people you need to have a conversation of responsibility with about your past actions. Remember, an apology or statement of responsibility is more effective when you have created and maintained change for a time.

Dr. Mike Davison

Diet Food Stinks!
(0)
One big thing that can keep you from eating healthy is the idea of the food. People often think it sucks and doesn’t taste good. That is the best thing of not dieting, the food tastes great. And since eating healthy is a “non-diet” the food also tastes great, often better than junk food. Have you ever had a strawberry that was so good it was almost orgasmic?
People get caught up in comparing the old food they used to eat to the new food they are now eating. Don’t do this. Do not get caught up in trying to find something that tastes like your old favorite thing. Here is a little secret, the natural healthy food will not taste the same. It will taste better, if you let it. Let me explain what I mean with a story.
My friend was eating an apple, and after a bite or two, she put the apple down and was going to throw it away. It was one of the worst apples she had ever eaten, she said. Don’t ask me why, but I wanted to taste the worst apple ever. I took a bite, and it tasted pretty good to me. And then I had a thought. If I ate the apple expecting an apple taste, it was pretty bad. In fact, horrible. But when I tasted the apple for the taste it had, without comparing it to anything else, it was fine. In fact, the apple was pretty good. My friend, who just a moment ago was going to throw the apple out, tasted it again. When she didn’t compare it to what she thought an apple should taste like, she thought it was pretty good as well.
If you try to compare the new food you are eating to things you’ve eaten in the past, it will not be the same. It is not the same. But if you actually taste the new food you are eating for the food it is, you will find it is just as good, if not better, than the food you used to eat. Fresh and pure food always tastes better than toxic food, if you taste the food for what it is without comparing it to what you used to eat.
Find your new favorite foods from healthy selections and the food you eat will taste great.

Bleeding gums can be one sign of periodontal disease, gingivitis, or other serious problems. Other symptoms like bad breath, toothache, and receding gums indicate poor dental health.
Gum disease affects the tissues that surround and support the teeth. Bacteria affect the gum, which can turn into tartar and plaque buildup, irritate your gums and lead to bleeding and receding gums. Top quality oral hygiene cures bleeding gums.
Bleeding gums are also caused by the canker sores which are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Aging is also a factor for bleeding gums. If you do not treat gums properly it may eventually lead to loss of teeth. Early diagnoses of the bleeding gums are better and you can treat them so that there are no further complications. Tooth loss is caused gum weakening. Many people are affected by gingivitis that is characterized by bleeding gums and swollen gums. This condition may also be painful for some people.
Folic acid tablets are also available in the medical stores for this purpose. Gums that bleed are not only unhealthy but are also unattractive. People who take care of their external looks should also concentrate on the bleeding gums. Consult a dentist if you have problems like toothache, canker sores, receding gums or excessive plaque.
Brushing teeth is such a routine that very few people think about it. The teeth are not getting brushed properly. All-natural, fluoride-free toothpaste should be used for brushing. While brushing your teeth along the gum line, angle your toothbrush at a 45-degree so it is up against your teeth and gums. Then jiggle the toothbrush back and forth in small, round strokes. The correct motion is more like massaging along the gums line than brushing.
Adding 2 -3 drops of tea-tree oil to the toothpaste for brushing provides good teeth. You will have a longer fresh-breath feeling afterwards. Flossing daily is the best way to stop plaque from forming between teeth. When flossing is done on a daily basis as advised, bleeding will become less & less and soon gone. Flossing & scaling can reach and clean under the gum line effectively.

You ever been tricked into attending a multilevel marketing sales recruiting meeting? It starts out something like this; “I have this great new business I want to explain to you and you to be very good at it because you have all the right personal qualities.” As soon you go to meeting you find out all the great reasons why someone needs to do their own business.
They talk about Ray Crock from McDonald’s and all the great entrepreneurs of all time. They talk about your income, retirement and the fact that Social Security will not be available to you. They tell you about 95 percent of the people are either dead or broke at age 60 and that this awaits you unless you do something and take action in your life.
Of course this whole time you are thinking yes, yes, yes and then they ask you if you might be interested in the business of your own, which will prevent this from happening to you. Pretty sneaky isn’t it? Interesting considering that they haven’t even told you what the business is yet or what you will be doing or what your mission is. What a bunch of crap.
Now then, did you know that international terrorist cells use the same methods to recruit people of lower IQ. They look for weak individuals with no self-esteem who are afraid of the future and then they play upon those fears in order to recruit them. They even have sponsors and the sponsors help the new recruits by pumping them up and telling them about their part of the greater cause now.
Eventually they convince the international terrorist recruit to commit to strapping a bomb to themselves and blow themselves up. Of course only a moron would do that or someone who has no manhood. But the recruit does not even stop think that he is merely being used. There are so many similarities to how these multi-level marketing companies and international terrorist operate indeed. Consider this in 2006.

If you’re concerned about the condition of an older family member or loved one, you are likely asking yourself: “I know there’s something wrong. Could it be Alzheimer’s?”
You aren’t alone. Many folks share these “silent” fears and concerns about loved ones who show signs of memory lapses or have difficulty performing routine tasks. They fear Alzheimer’s Disease — a terrible, progressive brain disorder that slowly strips away one’s mental and physical capabilities.
A new manual, “How to Tell if Someone You Love May Have Alzheimer’s”, details exactly what early symptoms and warning signs to look for, and provides simple home tests that can indicate potential Alzheimer’s problems. The manual is available online, free of charge, at www.alztest.com.
Is there really a way to “predict” who will get Alzheimer’s?
In most cases, early warning signs (also known as “markers”) give clear indication that problems are brewing that may indicate Alzheimer’s. Often, these warning signs can be seen years before clinical symptoms appear. These include:
1) Loss of the sense of smell: A loss of ability to distinguish or recognize odors can take place up to two years before memory loss is noticed. This loss is due to damage to nerves in the olfactory area of the brain, which controls the sense of smell.
2) Visual / Spatial Impairment: Because of insufficient blood supply and nerve damage to the occipital area of the brain, another early marker is difficulty comprehending visual information. This shows up in an inability to follow and recall visual directions, or in copying or drawing.
3) Loss of hearing: A study at the University of South Florida revealed that 49 out of 52 patients had a significant hearing loss. Most individuals affected by this are unaware of their hearing loss.
4) Abnormal Fingerprint Patterns: One unusual type of fingerprint pattern is found in over 75% of all Alzheimer’s patients, suggesting that there is a genetic predisposition for developing this disease or other dementia.
5) Depression: Approximately 50% of all Alzheimer’s patients suffer from abnormal bouts of depression, well before other personality changes are noticeable.
A series of simple home tests provided in the manual can help determine if there are potential problems that may require professional intervention. For more information, the complete text of the manual, “How to Tell if Someone You Love May Have Alzheimer’s”, may be seen at http://www.alztest.com.

In recent years the issue of Alternative Healing has taken the medical world by storm.
A 2004 government survey concluded that more than one third of adults use some form of alternative medicine and healing. Many of those using alternative therapies do not even discuss them with their traditional healthcare practitioners.
One facet of this burgeoning interest is Herbal Medicine. While it may seem “trendy” to some, Herbal Medicine has been around for thousands of years.
In fact, many of the familiar pharmaceutical medications we use today were originally created from “natural” ingredients. Drugs like opium (from poppies), aspirin (from willow bark), digitalis (from foxglove) and quinine (from the cinchona tree.)
What is Herbal Medicine?
Herbal Medicine is the use of botanicals (plants) either singularly or in combination to prevent and treat certain ailments and illnesses.
People native to different geographical locations have long used plants and plant extracts to cure specific maladies.
Sometimes referred to as “folk” medicine, it is generally recognized that there are three schools of research one can follow with regard to the history of these treatments.
There is the study of medicines based on Greek, Roman and medieval sources, which is largely used by Western schools of thought, Ayurveda which comes from India, and the Eastern tradition of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Rather than separation, these different schools of thought provide more commonality than division.
It stands to reason that most ancient peoples used plants that were native to their geographical location, which provides sound reasoning as to why different schools of thought exist.
All three of these modalities at one time included both philosophical and spiritual aspects along with the scientific knowledge that existed within a specific time frame.
In the study that determined one third of Americans used alternative therapies, the same number surveyed showed a dramatic increase in positive results to more than 60% when “prayer” was included in the mix.
Ayurveda, loosely translated to “knowledge of life,” is the ancient Indian system of medicine. Dating back to more than 6,000 years ago, Ayurvedic Medicine practiced not just Herbal Medicine, but some of the earliest surgical procedures as well as inoculation.
Over the years Ayurvedic Medicine became increasingly symptomatic as opposed to treating the root cause of disease, which originally was steeped in strengthening the immune system
With all our so-called advancements in the medical field, it’s interesting that physicians are still treating “effect” rather than “cause.”
The old adage that, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” could not be more true. This is especially true when it comes to natural remedies.
Nothing in the makeup of a plant tells us in what way it would be used the best. There are over a half million known herbs that could be used as possible remedies.
Chinese Herbalist practitioners have over 2,000 herbs that are readily available in their pharmacies.
Herbal remedies around the globe very in strength from the very mild and gentle remedies that are use even as food, to those that are potential poisons when taken at the wrong dose.
Folk use of herbal remedies is familiar to all of us in some form or another. This is because herbal remedies are learned by being passed down from generation to generation.
Unfortunately this hearsay is what fuels the ire of the scientific community and their disdain.
But by dismissing generations of experience and observation, it is really the traditional scientific community which is losing out on this wisdom.
In recent times, attitudes toward traditional and herbal remedies have changed for the better. Many medical schools now offer studies in complementary medicine alongside traditional medical courses.
It’s only a matter of time before herbal medicine becomes part of a more holistic practice of healthcare.
