There is a really effortless manner in which to keep the body nourished, cleansed and disease-free is to oxygenize your body. This is a breathing exercise that involves nothing more than filling your lungs with wholesome air. Deep diaphramic breathing can foster the body’s detoxification function.

Oxygen is ample and free. Unfortunately our air may be contaminated in some areas, so be remindful of this fact. You do not want to perform your breath technique while standing on a bustling street waiting for your bus. Ideally you should do your breathing exercise at home, indoors or outdoors if you live in a place where the air is fresh and clean.

Stand straight and tall, take in a long, slow, soothing breath, filling up the belly until you feel it could explode. Contain the breath as long as you’re able (do not force it), and then slowly expel it out through your mouth. The exercise involves 5 to 10 inhalations and exhalations just like this. If you want, you can change this exercise by bringing your arms above your head during the inhale, then then lower your arms as you exhale.

Deep breathing drives oxygen into your blood stream, which transports it to the cells to nutrify and detox them of toxins. Surplus oxygen in your body improves blood flow and movement of lymph fluid throughout the lymphatic system. Both of these circulatory systems are key players in our body’s purification abilities.
